Public Works Operations Director
Salary: $114,186.74 to $145,732.65 DOQ

The City of Madera (Population 66,000) is seeking a hands-on, collaborative, and communicative service orientated professional to serve as its Public Works Operations Director. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role in a community in the heart of the State of California, located in the rich Central Valley.
The Public Works Operations Director is a critical department head position. The Director oversees Streets and Storm Drainage, Electrical and Facilities, Water and Sewer; and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Director also oversees management of the solid waste contract and the general aviation airport. The department has 61 full-time and 5 part-time employees.
Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for a Public Works Operations Director. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of five years of broad and extensive experience in public works or related service delivery operations, including at least three years in a responsible management capacity, and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction, public administration, facility management or a related field.
