With an annual budget of $450 million, RPU provides high quality, reliable services to more than 110,000 metered electric customers and 66,000 metered water customers in and around the City of Riverside.

The City of Riverside is recruiting for a dynamic and highly experienced Utilities Assistant General Manager/Energy Delivery to manage the day-to-day planning, directing, reviewing, and overseeing the electric distribution, transmission and generation, engineering, and construction activities of the Energy Delivery division. This at-will position reports to the General Manager. This position is designated as Non-Classified and exempt from the classified service. The top focus areas and priorities over the next couple of years include measures to rapidly decrease Riverside’s carbon footprint to reach a zero-carbon electric grid, deploying system automation and Smart Grid functionalities to support sustainability, managing the Riverside Transmission Reliability Project and implementing Best Practices in all maintenance and operations of the department.

The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of progressively responsible managerial and supervisory experience in public utilities electric distribution and transmission engineering, substation and planning engineering, generation,communication, operations, maintenance, and construction activities. Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in electrical civil engineering is required and a Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable. The salary range for this position is $162,768 - $212,208 annually, DOQ.
