County Government
Ventura County is a "general law" county, governed by a five-member, elected–by-district Board of Supervisors. The Supervisors appoint a County Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the County budget, day-to-day operations, as well as to advise, assist and act as an agent for the Board of Supervisors in all matters under the Board's jurisdiction.

The Position
Under direction, assists in planning, administrating the Supervisor’s Office in environmental and sustainability programs. Performs a variety of research, analysis, and professional and technical administrative duties. There is currently one (1) part-time vacancy at the level I or level II depending on experience and business needs. The vacancy is in Thousand Oaks, California, in Supervisor Parks’ Office.

The Ideal Candidate will be someone who has enthusiasm for environmental sustainability issues; someone who also has an excellent working knowledge of environmental concerns including water, energy, pollution, and conservation; enjoys actively engaging with the public to work cooperatively to address environmental issues; and is an active participant in providing and maintaining exemplary customer service with a willingness to be attentive, understanding, responsive, fair, courteous, and respectful. The ideal candidate will also possess a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or Energy/Sustainability.
