Under the leadership of the Finance Director, the Senior Accountant takes a principal role in preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and will be responsible for reconciling grants and reporting compliance to supervising agencies. Additionally, we seek someone that desires an opportunity to gain valuable professional development in all aspects of Finance in a small agency including exposure to Budget and Capital Improvement Projects.
The existing Finance Department Team is cohesive, enthusiastic and responsible for Citywide and Agency revenues and expenditures, Water Utility collections, cashiering functions with high visibility public counter services, payroll management, account payables/receivables, and manages several competitive grants and checks warrants for the City Council ratification. In addition, the Finance Department has a Division responsible for citywide Information Technology Services.
The ideal candidate will have local government finance experience and be familiar with Sunguard Finance Plus (previously Pentamation).
