Vacaville is seeking a strong leader who understands the importance of customer service and who possesses the ability to quickly respond to direction and concerns from the City Council, City Manager’s Office, and the public, while still ensuring the Department maintains financial, moral, ethical, and professional standards at the highest level.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, public administration, or a closely related field; and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible and varied experience in a municipal public works department that includes a broad range of services such as capitol project engineering, public works infrastructure maintenance and/or traffic engineering, and that includes at least four (4) years of administrative and management responsibility. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California is desirable.
The annual salary range for the Director of Public Works is $179,229– $217,828. Salary placement is dependent upon qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, the City offers an excellent benefits package. Please see brochure for more information.
