What’s the Job About?
The Public Health Officer (PHO) is an at-will position appointed by the Board of Supervisors and reports on a day-to-day basis to the Director of Health Services Agency. This position is subject to overtime, standby, and callback assignments. The PHO works closely with state and federal agencies, the County Executive Office, HSA executives, support staff, and other County departments. In addition, the PHO plays a strategic and critical role in collaborating with emergency management departments and professionals, foundations, committees, community-based organizations, and the community-at-large to set local priorities.
