The City is seeking a Principal Planner to lead long-range planning efforts, including an update to the downtown plan now underway, to be followed by a General Plan Update.
Under direction, plans, organizes and directs the work of a major function of the Community Development Department, such as current and long-range planning, community development and economic development related efforts; plans, organizes, supervises, reviews and participates in the work of assigned staff; coordinates activities with other divisions, City departments, outside agencies and organizations; make recommendations to the City Council, Planning Commission, and a variety of related boards and committees.
This position is responsible for the overall direction and administration of the city's current and/or long range planning, including formulating policy and procedural recommendations for Community and Economic development. The position operates under general direction of the Director, or other lead management. Exercises high degree of discretion and independent judgment with regard to assigned duties.
