Data Base Administrator (Information Technology Analyst Senior)

Salary-$39.76-$48.33 per hour + generous benefit package

Placer County’s Administrative Services Department is seeking an Oracle Database and Unix Administrator professional. This position will be responsible for on-going County-wide database support and administration of the HP-UX operating environment that supports the County’s PeopleSoft and Accounting software. The hardware platform includes HP Storage Arrays, and Blade Server Enclosures.
Ideal candidates should have experience with Oracle database tools, backup and recovery and security management.

Possession of an Oracle DBA Professional Certificate is a plus.

Additionally, the following skills and experience are desired: patching and installing software on HP-UX 11x versions, MC Service Guard cluster administration, and Data Protector backups.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years journey level professional information technology experience and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a related field.
Two years of relevant technical work experience or relevant certifications may be substituted for two years of the required education.

Best-qualified consideration will be given to those applicants who demonstrate professional-level experience as an Oracle Data Base Administrator and/or a Unix Administrator.
Oracle certified Database Administrator (DBA) is desirable.
