Natural Resources Manager

Regional Parks is at an exciting time in its organizational history. Having created a Natural Resources Division in 2015, the Department is now looking for a leader to step in and successfully grow, formalize, and manage the division. The Natural Resources Manager will oversee policy development, build partnerships and leverage funding for natural resource conservation, and serve on the management team in order to bring their natural resource expertise to high level decisions.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience with natural resource management and public lands development policy
  • Superb interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff
  • An understanding of the County of Sonoma's current natural resource issues
  • Strong verbal communication skills in order to represent Regional Parks in a number of collaborative landscape-scale conservation initiatives
  • An advanced degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Ecology, Rangeland Management, or related field

The Division works collaboratively with other departments, agencies, non-profit organizations, local schools, and the region's universities to assess ecological resources and manage them appropriately.
