As first line, working supervisor at Juvenile Hall, the Probation Youth Camp, or alternative detention programs for the Probation Department, Juvenile Correctional Counselors IV (JCC IV) are responsible for the supervision, direction, training, and evaluation of staff in one or more units. They oversee the work performance of Juvenile Correctional Counselors I, II, and III on assigned shifts, and are accountable for the actions and decisions of their team. JCC IVs also provide individual and group counseling for juveniles in their assigned unit.
JCC IVs may supervise weekend work crews or community service activities programs, and may be temporarily assigned to perform the tasks normally associated with the Probation Division Director I for the purposes of orientation, training, and/or relief.
