The City of Stockton is seeking an experienced Information Technology Officer to help lead the department in solutions and technical innovations in core capabilities, intellectual property development, customer mission support, and competitive organic growth. This position will be responsible for growing and nurturing our Information Technology infrastructure, operation, and staff.
The Information Technology Officer works with the Director of Information Technology to position the City of Stockton for future growth by continually improving, enhancing, and growing the department’s technical capabilities through vision, inspiration, and coaching. The Information Technology Officer will lead the team in solving complex technical challenges, developing innovative solutions, and delivering technical products and services to meet market demands.
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, business administration, or a closely related field; and five years (within the last eight years) of management, supervisory, or lead experience in information technology systems, strategic/budget planning, or project management. Experience with distributed network design, telecommunications (telephone, radios, VoIP), computer hardware, municipal business application software such as Finance, Budget, Payroll, Permit, Utility, Document Management, Agenda Management, Fleet/Fuel Management, Asset Management and customer service best practices are desirable.
