Approximate annual base salary per year: $128,312 - $155,703     In addition to the base salary, the County offers and excellent Senior Management benefits and compensation package which includes a cafeteria plan in the amount of $24,023 (considered the employer's contribution to benefits and may be used to purchase medical, dental and vision coverage; unused monies are paid as additional salary); a 2% employer contribution to Deferred Compensation plan; vacation cash-out of up to 8 days per year; 14 paid holidays, 15 days of vacation and 10 days of administrative leave per year.

About the position
San Joaquin County is seeking an experienced and innovative information systems professional to serve as the Information Systems Assistant Director. The Assistant Director provides leadership for and administers the daily operational activities of the County’s Information Services Division. This includes communications systems, computer applications, network infrastructure and coordination and management of projects. Technology has become an essential part of every aspect of County Governance and the Information Systems Assistant Director will work closely with the director to administer the direction, strategy, policy, and allocation of information technology resources for the County

The ideal Candidate
The ideal Information Systems Assistant Director candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills and possess expert knowledge of all the latest information systems technology trends. Especially key is experience in and understanding of the complex and intricate nature of government technology and infrastructure needs. A Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of management level experience in a large-scale information technology environment is desirable.

The San Joaquin County Information Systems Division is a division of the County Administrators Office. The mission of ISD is to support technology solutions that create opportunities to transform the way service is brought to the public through leading, integrating, partnering, educating, consulting, and supporting.

Desirable Qualifications 
Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, public or business administration, or a closely related field.
Experience: Four years of experience in a management capacity which included managing large-scale, complex information systems and implementing complex, advanced information technology projects.
