The County of Sonoma Information Systems Department (ISD) is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join the Technical Services Team. This position is responsible for the proactive protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information throughout the County. The Security Analyst will interact with stakeholders across all technical teams and external entities, and will monitor, analyze, improve, and coordinate activities to maintain secure system access.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in system administration and/or desktop support in Unix and Windows server operating system environments
  • A keen understanding of infrastructure and application-level data protection, including common attack vectors and exploits
  • Experience with and thorough knowledge of incident response, information security requirements, compliance, standards, controls, and frameworks
  • Experience with security tools and appliances, such as: Tenable Nessus, Qualys, IPS/IDS, Palo Alto
  • Networks, Cisco ASA, and SIEMs
  • Accredited security training or certifications such as: Certified Information Systems Security Professiona
  • (CISSP), Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), Certified Ethical Hacker
  • (CEH), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
