Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is an entry-level paraprofessional classification assigned to perform a variety of technical and administrative support duties in support of the Human Resources Department's various programs. Assignments in this generalist position will involve assisting with the administration of the department's programs, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, labor relations, benefits administration, leave administration, classification and compensation, organizational development and training, workers' compensation and safety, and/or general liability. The current vacancy is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in developing his/her human resources skills and gaining experience in all aspects of human resources administration.

The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding people skills, be extremely detail-oriented, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrate ethics and integrity, and have a positive attitude and a sense of humor. Prior exposure to human resources administration is preferred, but extensive experience is not required.
