The City of Poway (pop. 48,841) is strategically located in San Diego County, three miles east of Interstate 15 and 20 miles north of downtown San Diego. Poway Fire Department serves the community from three fire stations with the support of 57 full-time staff (53 sworn) and a FY2021-22 operating budget of $13.6 million.

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking professional, an expert and experienced firefighter, as well as a skilled administrator and tactful leader. Using sound approaches to address current service demands, the next Chief will also bring leadership qualities to enhance the Department’s ability to meet future needs.
