Union City Police Chief Darryl McAllister will step down Friday after five years on the job.
The Cities of El Cajon, La Mesa and Lemon Grove are looking for a Fire Chief for Heartland Fire & Rescue. As Fire Chief for Heartland Fire & Rescue, you will be serving these three Cities in East San Diego County, one of the most desirable locations to live, work and play in San Diego. With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, the area has a temperate climate and is just a short drive to some of Southern California’s best beaches. Also, East County is 15 minutes from downtown San Diego and world-famous attractions, such as the San Diego Zoo, Old Town San Diego, and Sea World.
The ideal candidate will bring an extensive background in fire management and emergency services, a high degree of ethics and integrity, an ability to relate effectively with professional firefighters, paramedics, department staff, other city leaders, elected officials and the public, and a strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in the three member cities.
