Formed in 2014 as a part of the County Manager's Office, the Office of Sustainability strives to improve the sustainability of the County's operations and the greater community through work in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency, resource conservation, alternative transportation, and greenhouse gas emission reductions. 

The Financial Services Manager I (FSM I) will be responsible for supervising and coordinating financial support functions primarily in the Office of Sustainability and may provide financial support throughout the County Manager's Office.  Reporting to the Principal Management Analyst, the FSM I will oversee the budget development and monitoring, as well as the financial and performance reporting for the Office of Sustainability; manage and report on grants awarded to the Office of Sustainability; and oversee the day-to-day accounting of the Office of Sustainability. Additionally, the FSM I may be asked to assist with budget preparation for the County Manager's Office and the Board of Supervisors. 
Additional support functions may include payroll management, management analysis, research, program evaluation, and other related functions. The FSM I will have supervisory responsibility for two Accountants and one Fiscal Office Specialist.
A typical way to obtain qualify is:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, auditing, economics, or business administration or other fields applicable to the responsibilities and abilities required by the position. 
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience performing a wide variety of financial duties in a large, complex public agency.
