The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Department of Health and Human Services (H&HS) are accepting applications for the position of Eligibility Supervisor. There is currently one full-time vacancy in the Public Assistance Branch of Health and Human Services.
The Eligibility Supervisor position reports to the Social Services Program Manager and is part of the Public Assistance leadership team. The Supervisor provides direct supervision to Eligibility Specialists, Eligibility Assistants, and Eligibility Worker III staff. The duties of the Eligibility Supervisor include working with staff to resolve case issues, developing and delivering program information to staff and community partners, documenting work and systems trends, and resolving issues with multiple systems and case records. The Eligibility Supervisor is a key member of multiple committees and work groups that serve to enhance and streamline the ongoing work in Public Assistance.
The ideal candidate will have experience assessing, organizing and planning work for multiple teams with varied duties. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to switch focus when needed to best support the changing needs of the staff and programs. The ideal candidate will have experience mentoring staff and evaluating work performance. In addition, the ideal candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to foster collaboration, motivate staff, further develop staff knowledge and strengthen employee performance. The ideal candidate has high emotional intelligence with excellent communication skills and the ability to act as a positive role model for staff. Finally, the ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of Public Assistance Programs and strong technical skills in the use of the C-IV, CalHEERS and MEDS systems.
