The City of Ventura is hiring!   We are accepting applications for the position of Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Worker.  The current vacancy is in the Water Division.  

Under general supervision, the Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled electrical and mechanical work, alone or as member of a crew in the construction, maintenance and repair of the water system's production equipment and facilities.

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated an excellent work ethic, display great integrity coupled with interpersonal and professional customer service skills.  The candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, perform skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and fabrication and repair of equipment.  The candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits

The City offers a total compensation package that includes both a generous salary plus excellent benefit! Salary:  $29.92 - $36.36 Hourly DOQ.


A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to three years’ experience performing electrical and mechanical repairs and installation on a variety of electrical equipment and working with low electrical voltages up to 480 volts are required. Experience or safety training working around medium electrical voltage (4160 volt) is desirable.

Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license is required.

Within six months of employment, must obtain and maintain the following licenses:
In Water: Valid California State Class B license with the allowable Auto Transmission and Air Brakes restrictions.
In Wastewater: Valid California State Class A license with Tanker endorsement and allowable Auto Transmission restriction.
