Alameda County (pop. 1.6 million), located on the east side of the San Francisco Bay across from the San Francisco Peninsula. Commonly referred to as the “East Bay,” the region boasts a desirable location and incredible diversity, broad economic base, and a range of housing and business opportunities. Reporting to the County Administrator, the new Director will lead the Risk Management Unit’s 11 staff members in effectively managing all areas of risk management for the County.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced risk management professional with exceptional management and interpersonal skills. He/she will have experience in all areas of risk management and exhibit a collaborative management style. The successful candidate will be able to guide staff to ensure quality deliverables and develop a coordinated service delivery model. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and six years (two as a supervisor) of progressively responsible professional risk management experience; public agency experience and ARM designation desirable.
