Under leadership from its new City Manager, Madera is looking for a collaborative Director of Financial Services with excellent leadership and communication skills to be part of its team. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Director of Financial Services is a key, at will department head position that accepts full responsibility for the City’s utility billing, business licensing, general accounting, expenditure controls, purchasing, grants administration, and maintenance of the City’s investment portfolio. The new director will have the exciting opportunity to help move Madera forward in its utilization of the functionalities available in its Tyler Munis software system.
Experience/Education: 5 years of broad and extensive experience in professional government accounting, including at least 3 as a supervisor or manager. A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Public Administration is required.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class C California Drivers License. CPA designation is preferred but not required.
