Deputy Executive Officer
Base Salary: $123,741.86 - $173,255.59 Annually, plus benefits
Under direction in the Assistant County Executive Officer (Chief of Staff), manages and supervises the Fiscal and Administration Unit of the County Executive Office; represents the agency in budgetary, fiscal, personnel, and administrative responsibilities; performs staff assistance to the director; and performs related work as required. 
The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be a seasoned budget and management professional, and have experience supervising and leading staff engaged in a broad scope of fiscal, personnel, administrative and budget program functions. Excellent customer service, ability to work with a diverse group of employees including support staff through members of the Board of Supervisors and special committees with tact and diplomacy is an essential part of the position.  The ability to anticipate problems and develop proactive solutions, provide positive leadership through staff development, foster teamwork, a strong work ethic, and collaboration among staff and County departments is vital. 
Education & Experience: Extensive education, training, and experience that demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities can also be obtained by completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field AND five (5) years' of professional accounting, auditing, or financial management experience which included supervisory/management responsibilities over unit/division operations.
•        A Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; OR
•        A California Certified Public Accountant license.
