The City of Burbank is nestled between the Hollywood Hills and the Verdugo Mountains in the heart of Los Angeles County. Over 17,500 businesses are located within the City, and the nighttime population of 108,000 more than doubles during the day. The Financial Services Department provides services including budget, purchasing, accounts receivable and revenue collection, payroll, and accounts payable. The Department is supported by a FY2019-20 budget of $5.6 million and 32 staff.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader, making positive contributions to a stable team. He/she will have a confident style that promotes candid discussions and encourages diversity of thought. Familiarity with contemporary business practices, technology and tools plus experience with a system conversion or major upgrade are desirable. Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and four years of recent experience in governmental administrative/budget, payroll and/or purchasing work, including two years of supervisory experience, is required.
