The County of Sonoma Transportation and Public Works Department Seeks an Experienced Professional to Manage the Engineering & Maintenance Division!

Starting Salary up to $14,526/Mo. ($174,316/Yr.) + a Cash Allowance of $600/Mo.*
(Salary is negotiable commensurate with experience, salary history, and requirements.)

The Ideal Candidate:

 

  • Experience with principles of project budgeting, financial management, and revenue generation
  • An understanding of the current issues related to California governmental transportation
  • Extensive knowledge of the engineering and maintenance of large-scale public works projects, including state and federal laws relating to the engineering, surveying, drafting, and right-of-way requirements of public works projects
  • Demonstrated experience developing creative and alternative solutions to administrative, management, and fiscal challenges
  • Considerable independent judgment and discretion in staff supervision and delegated administration and management including the prioritization and coordination of Department mandates, goals, and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to effectively lead teams and collaborate with multiple agencies and the public.

 

Qualifications for this position normally include, possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the State of California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is required. Extensive professional experience, normally five years of full-time, professional engineering experience, including at least two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity, would provide such opportunity.
