With its central location, affordable housing, and emerging economy, the City of Stockton offers an exciting career opportunity for a Deputy Municipal Utilities Director/Water. This at-will position reports directly to the Director of Municipal Utilities and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Water Utility, which provides drinking water service to approximately 55% of the Stockton Metropolitan area, provides long-term water resources planning, and maintains a water transmission and distribution system. The ideal candidate will have the technical skills necessary to effectively manage a large and complex water production and distribution system, including water treatment processes, pumping systems, SCADA systems, and integrated energy management systems. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources planning or operations management in a public water utility with a combination of ground and surface water sources. California registration as a PE is desired. The annual salary for this position is up to $156,193 with an active PE-Civil License at time of hire. Other candidates may advance to the professional salary schedule upon obtainment of professional license. Additionally, the City offers an excellent benefit package including CalPERS retirement.
