Annual salary range: $157,262.61 to $191,153.69

Located in the lower reaches of the Cascade Range, midway between Redding in Shasta County and the Northern Redwood Coast, Trinity County encompasses approximately 3,200 square miles. The Board of Supervisors is seeking a strong, visionary and forward-thinking, leader committed to getting things done and moving an organization forward. The next County Administrative Officer (CAO) will be a strong fiscal manager committed to the long-term sustainability of the County. It is necessary for the CAO to be a visible and engaged leader who proactively establishes strong relationships with regional and local stakeholders. Those who value transparency and are effective communicators with strong listening and interpersonal skills will find success in this role. It is expected that the next CAO will be a leader able to build strong teams with a dedicated focus on staff empowerment, development, and accountability.
Ideal candidates will possess no less than five years of increasingly responsible experience performing complex budgetary, financial, policy, and organizational analysis duties including experience working directly with an elected board or council. A Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or a related field is expected with a Master’s degree preferred.
