Tulare County has a budget exceeding $1 billion dollars, with 5,000 employees in 20 agencies and departments serving a large geographical area in the central San Joaquin Valley of California. The CAO oversees all operations and functions carrying out Board policy direction; forecasts and formulates short and long term plans accomplished through the annual Budget;reviews and monitors the budget, services and programs; prepares recommendations in response to Federal/State legislation; and implements the Strategic Management Plan. Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, public/business administration or related field and five years of progressively responsible work experience in local government administration, including supervisory responsibilities.
