The position will be responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing compliance programs and initiatives in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. It is anticipated that the addition of this position will ensure the hospitals and clinics will continue to achieve compliance standards with entities including, but not limited to, the California Department of Public Health,Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Joint Commission. This position will have dual reporting to the County Executive Officer and HealthCare Agency Director, as well as to the Board of Supervisors. The Compliance Officer will lead the Health Care Agency, and associated Boards and Committees, in maintaining a culture of compliance, privacy, safety, and high-quality care for the community we serve. The Compliance Officer is an At-Will classification that is exempt from the provision of the Civil Service Ordinance.
The ideal candidate would possess a Master's degree in public health administration, experience with compliance administration, program development, and project management, in a hospital or other health care environment. Actively Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), or Certified in a Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC), and Certified in Healthcare Compliance Fellowship(CHC-F).
