The County of Ventura seeks a Management Assistant-IV C for the Community Development Division. The Community Development Division is tasked with advising and pursuing programs and policies serving the diverse needs of Ventura County’s residents, primarily those with limited to no income. Members in this unit provide support to the Countywide Continuum of Care, administer a wide array of federal and state grants for unhoused and low-income residents, and promote the development of safe, sanitary housing for the County’s residents.

Under direction, the Community Development Management Assistant IV – Confidential performs a wide variety of clerical and routine administrative functions to support the eight (8) staff within the unit with administration of grants from the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, US Treasury, State Department of Housing and Community Development and the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency among others. Members in this unit coordinate and communicate with grant sub-recipients, community partners, government agencies, and members of the public extensively in the performance of their duties.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Examples of qualifying education and experience include the following:
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible secretarial or administrative support experience. OR
An associate degree and three (3) years of increasingly responsible secretarial or administrative support experience. OR
A bachelor's degree and two (2) years of increasingly responsible secretarial or administrative support experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written communication skills must be demonstrated in the completion of the employment application and supplemental questionnaire.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Possess and maintain a valid California driver license.
