The City serves approximately 80,000 residents across slightly more than 12 square miles. Mountain View is consistently acknowledged for its outstanding quality of life and exceptional services.

 

Supported by a staff of 51, the Community Development Department is comprised of four divisions – Planning, Building Inspection, Economic Development, and Neighborhood & Housing. The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and balance a multitude of complex projects simultaneously. Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills will be expected. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who brings five or more years of extensive planning/community development experience that includes work on unique projects and long-range planning efforts, as well as at least three years of management experience in a comparable city. A Master’s degree or equivalent in planning is desirable. AICP certification preferred.
