The City of Glendora’s Planning Department seeks a City Planner.  If you are enthusiastic, initiative driven and a proven leader, we invite your application for this stellar opportunity.  The City Planner will organize, manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Planning Department, working closely with developers and other public agencies and take a leadership approach in developing a vision for land use, transportation, and the public service future of the community through the General Plan and its administration.


The Planning Department oversees five major activity areas including Planning, Environmental Services, Housing Authority, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and the Village Business Improvement District (BID) and supports the Project Review Committee, Planning Commission BID Board, and City Council in their review of activities overseen by the Planning Department.


The ideal candidate will have a global and contemporary understanding of a Planning Department in an ever changing small agency environment.  Five years of increasingly responsible experience in local government planning and community development including supervisory experience is required.  The successful candidate will have the ability to react positively to situations and foster positive partnerships inside and outside of the organization.  If you want to make a rewarding contribution to an agency with a great reputation that encourages new ideas, we invite your application!
