The City of San Leandro is seeking a City Clerk. This individual is responsible for preparing and distributing the City Council agenda and accurately recording all proceedings of City Council meetings; conducting follow-up activities related to the agenda process; performing required legal noticing for City Council meetings, including public hearings; filing of required documents for candidates, elected officials, Board and Commission members and designated employees in compliance with the Political Reform Act; maintenance of public records, response to requests for public documents and coordination of the City’s Records Management Program; and managing and conducting City elections.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who has at least five years of experience as a City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk in a municipality performing the full range of responsibilities including agenda and minute preparation, records management and planning and managing municipal elections. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Certification by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) is highly desirable.
