Conveniently located between San Francisco and San Jose in the Silicon Valley, the City of Menlo Park (pop. 32,000+) is known for its beautiful tree-lined neighborhoods and active commercial districts. Incorporated in 1927, Menlo Park is a fiscally strong and stable General Law municipality governed by five City Council Members. The City Clerk is appointed by and reports to the City Manager.


The ideal candidate will be collaborative professional who is dedicated to open government and transparency. He/she will be an effective business partner known for producing quality work and having a keen eye for accuracy and detail. At least five (5) years of experience in a municipal government environment, three (3) of which must include service in a California City or County Clerk’s office, or similar governmental agency along with a Bachelor’s degree or education equivalent to completion of four years of college are required. Certification by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks or progress toward certification is preferred.
