Located at the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay in the heart of Silicon Valley, Milpitas (pop. 84,000) is home to a progressive and well-educated community with a diverse population. The Assistant (ACA) or Deputy City Attorney (DCA) will report to the City Attorney, providing legal advice on a wide range of topics and serving as the assigned attorney to one or more City Departments.

The ideal candidate will have a broad public law background, including ideally negotiation and drafting of complex contracts. They will be a collaborative self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Successful candidates will have at least 5 years of public law experience at the ACA level or 2 years at the DCA level and possess a bachelor’s degree and JD degree and maintain active membership in the State Bar of California.
