The City of Riverbank is seeking a dynamic Assistant Finance Director with innovative, visionary, and exceptional leadership skills necessary in managing the Finance Department. Under general direction, assists in planning, managing, overseeing and directing assigned operations, and services of the Finance Department; analyzes and reconciles financial statements; assists with preparing the City’s annual budget; prepares required reports; prepares journal entries and maintains the City’s general ledger; assists in the administration of grants; provides liaison to outside auditors; oversees the work of assigned staff; coordinates activities with other City officials, departments, outside agencies, organizations, and the public; provides assistance to the Assistant City Manager/Administrative Services Director; performs other related duties as required.
A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of four years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience in the maintenance of financial, fiscal, and related statistical records, of which one (1) year must be at a supervisory capacity, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field. Candidate must also possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license.
