Under direction of the County Executive Officer, assists in planning, directing and managing the overall administration of county government; with responsibility for program planning and evaluation and public and intergovernmental relations; provides executive oversight to the Administrative Services/Information System and Risk Management Departments and other functions as assigned by the County Executive Officer; assumes interim executive management of Departments as assigned; and does related work as required.

This executive management classification acts for the County Executive Officer in his/her absence or as delegated and is responsible for insuring continuity in the effective operation of County administration, controls major projects with county-wide impacts; may coordinate legislative policy development for the County Executive Officer; may direct public information activities; and may provide or coordinate resources to support Board members.
