Petaluma City Manager John Brown has retired after more than ten and a half years as chief executive of the Sonoma County city. Brown stepped down Nov. 29.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with the proven ability to succeed in a dynamic environment. An excellent critical thinker and problem solver, he/she will be an outstanding people manager who is adept at managing change. Five years of relevant urban planning experience that includes at least three years of supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree and/or AICP certification is preferred.
