Folsom has hired a new Community Development Director. Pam Johns, Associate Vice President of global planning engineering firm Michael Baker International, will take over September 6.

The Administrative Services Director (ASD) is a newly created role that reports to the City Manager and oversees finance, accounting, risk management, IT, procurement, business licensing and cemetery operations. The ASD serves as a vital partner of the cohesive executive team and provides high-quality information and financial management services. The current City Council wants to invest in the community and has approved moving forward with a comprehensive needs assessment for the City’s infrastructure. In helping the City achieve it’s long term vision, the ASD will also have a key role in strategic planning efforts as the emphasis will focus on economic vibrancy and enhancement of revenue streams. Internal to the department, the ASD will provide progressive leadership as staff development is a priority area.
The selected candidate will have a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in governmental financial management in the areas of accounting, financial analysis and budget preparation, with at least two of those years in a supervisory or management capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, business/public administration or a related field is expected or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered. A Master’s degree is preferred. The salary range is $135,200-$176,800 annually, DOQ.
