Job Description
 
Mariposa County is hiring a Human Resource Director/ Assistant County Administrative Officer. This is an at-will, executive level position with primary responsibility for human resources and serves at the pleasure of the County Administrative Officer.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Manage HR division operations, budget and staff
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
Oversee bargaining unit negotiations and issues
Provide guidance to County department heads and staff
Advise the Board of Supervisors on HR issues
Maintain County's class and compensation system
Ensure staff receive relevant training and development opportunities
Monitor state and federal legislation for potential funding and/or HR impacts
Implement strategic and operational plans to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and equity
Represent the County and the CAO; serve as acting CAO in his/her absence

Centralizing personnel support in HR division

Building a training program to develop staff at all levels
