Temecula to Consider Local Abortion Ban

Temecula City Councilmember Jessica Alexander is sponsoring a resolution that would ban abortions in the Riverside County city. The proposal comes a month after a similar ban was proposed and then quickly withdrawn in San Clemente.

“Let Temecula be known as a safe haven, not as an abortion sanctuary. Let the world know that Temecula stands for life from womb to tomb,” Alexander said.

Alexander is known for her outspoken conservative views. She also has a history of controversial statements about masks, race, and homosexuality.

Alexander’s proposal will be on the agenda for next month’s Temecula City Council meeting.

UPDATE: The resolution was rejected by a 4-1 vote following legal threats from California's attorney general.
