L.A. is America’s Second Most ‘Sinful’ City

Angelenos better be careful or they just may wake to a giant lump of coal in their stockings this Christmas.

A new study from WalletHub says L.A. is the second most “sinful” city in the nation, just behind Sin City (a.k.a. Las Vegas) itself. New York, Houston, and St. Louis, Missouri rounded out the top five.

WalletHub ranks the most sinful cities each year based on an array of naughty criteria such as crime rates, drinking, gambling, and the number of adult entertainment stores. Its list of the 182 most sinful cities in 2019 included 26 other cities in California, including San Francisco (#26), San Diego (#31), and Sacramento (#39).

Two more tidbits from this study:

• Irvine, California has some of the lowest violent and property crimes per capita, making it sugar and spice and everything nice.

• Los Angeles is home to some of the most adult entertainment establishments in America, while Long Beach has some of the fewest.
