New Planning and Development Director, Assistant City Manager Headed to Vallejo City Hall
Change is in the air at Vallejo City Hall.
In the span of one week, the city announced the hiring of a new planning and development services director, as well as a new assistant city manager.
Sierra Energy Research Park and Area 52 Accelerator executive director Rob White, a professional with 25 years in land use and compliance, was named planning director on Nov. 14. His resume includes stints as director of redevelopment and economic development for the City of Livermore, assistant city manager and chief information officer for Davis, and Sacramento County’s deputy director of economic development.
A day after White’s hiring, Vallejo named Martinez Assistant City Manager Anne Cardwell to the assistant city manager’s position. Cardwell has held the assistant city manager position in Martinez since 2016 and previously served 13 years with the City of Benicia. A Vallejo press release states she also oversees the internal service departments of IT, HR, and Finance, “as well as the administrative functions of the City Manager and City Clerk Offices” in Martinez. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Cardwell will take over on Dec. 17. She is replacing Teri Killgore who resigned abruptly over summer.
