Yolanda Carrillo Fills Corona City Council Vacancy
The Corona City Council has welcomed a new member. Corona-Norco YMCA Director Yolanda Carrillo was appointed to the dais on Friday, Oct. 12, by unanimous vote.
Carrillo is filling the vacancy left by Dick Haley, who resigned on Oct. 4. As City News has reported, Haley was forced to step down after suffering a serious fall that caused a brain hemorrhage.
Carrillo has been with the YMCA since 1996. She previously worked for the Social Security Administration’s Labor Board and has also taught as a four-year university professor. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Community Psychology and has a long history of involvement in the Corona community. She will serve out the remainder of Haley’s term, which expires in 2020.
