Redlands City Manager Placed on Leave
In August, City News reported on allegations of sexual harassment against Redlands City Manager N. Enrique Martinez. Now it appears he has been temporarily relieved of duties.
Martinez was placed on paid leave on Oct. 5 after a three-hour closed session of the City Council, said City Attorney Daniel McHugh. Officials would offer no further comment on the allegations or the fate of City Manager Martinez.
A former human resources manager named Amy Hagan has accused Martinez of making inappropriate sexual comments and creating a hostile work environment. She filed a federal discrimination complaint in September and also claims the city owes her over $450,000 in promised medical benefits.
