Police: City Worker Installed Hidden Restroom Camera at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall

A former building inspector for the City of Rancho Palos Verdes was arrested Tuesday for allegedly installing video recording devices in public restrooms, including one at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall. A criminal investigation was launched after a city staffer discovered one of the cameras in the restroom’s tampon dispenser.

Los Angeles County authorities say the suspect, 49-year-old Andrew James Jensen of Huntington Beach, also installed recording devices at a Starbucks.

Rancho Palos Verdes officials confirmed Jensen is no longer employed by the city and expressed dismay at the “betrayal of trust and violation of privacy against our employees and the community.”

Investigators have identified 89 victims from the recorded footage. Jensen has been charged with 89 counts of voyeurism.
