Shasta Lake City Manager John Duckett to Retire

Shasta Lake City Manager John Duckett announced his retirement Tuesday, effective July 27, 2018.

Duckett has been with the city for 25 years and spent the last six as city manager. Before assuming the city manager’s job in 2012, he worked as Shasta Lake’s Director of Finance. He had worked for the Citizens Utility Company of California for 13 years prior.

A city press release credited Duckett with securing funding for the new City Hall and Community Project which will open this July. As city manager, he guided the city through the end of redevelopment, a historic drought, and the development of commercial cannabis regulations in the aftermath of Prop 64.
