President Trump Visits Southern California

Today is the big day. President Donald Trump will visit the Golden State for the first time since taking the Oath of Office. All eyes will be on California today, as Trump's visit comes at a time of enormous controversy over his administration’s immigration policies and an ongoing 'war' with the state.

Trump is expected to arrive at the Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego at 11:30 a.m. From there, he’ll head to Otay Mesa to view prototypes for a 30-foot border wall.

No visit to the Golden State would be complete without a push for cash. Trump will head to West Los Angeles in the afternoon via plane, arriving at LAX at 3:30 p.m. He will then attend a Republican National Committee fundraiser in either Beverly Hills or Bell Air. Tickets for the event are selling at $35,000 to 250,000 a pop.

Protests are planned in West Los Angeles, San Diego, and even parts of northern California today. Demonstrators got an early start on Monday with rallies in Downtown San Diego and Beverly Hills where a number of politicians, including California Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León, spoke out.

Local law enforcement agencies have said they are working with federal authorities to ensure all security precautions are taken prior to and during the president’s scheduled visit.
