Santa Ana Finalizes Cannabis Rules

Thirty pot shops will be allowed to operate in the City of Santa Ana once recreational sales become legal next year. The city approved a final set of regulations on Nov. 21, which allows its existing medical dispensaries to roll over to commercial sales under new agreements with the city, provided they’ve been operating legally.

Ten new marijuana businesses will be able to obtain permits. The ordinance allows for cultivation, distribution and research centers as well.

Mobile delivery products will also be able to operate in Santa Ana. In addition, the city may allow up to 20 indoor facilities, 20 manufacturing facilities and 20 distribution facilities.

Santa Ana is the only city in Orange County to allow recreational marijuana shops so far.
