We’re just a few days away from the biggest shopping event of the year. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, 164 million consumers will bust out their wallets, spending an average of $967.13 each on gifts for family, coworkers and friends. But where the big spenders are depends partly on the city at hand. As the latest rankings from WalletHub show, when it comes to holiday shopping, some localities have much deeper pockets than others.

1. Milpitas (No. 6 nationally). Average holiday budget: $2,262.

2. San Ramon (No. 13 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,916.

3. Mountain View (No. 15 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,841. 

4. Pleasanton (No. 17 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,806.

5. Santa Clara (No. 21 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,706.

6. Palo Alto (No. 23 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,689.

7. Yorba Linda (No. 24 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,622.

8. Fremont (No. 26 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,582.

9. San Francisco (No. 27 nationally). Average holiday budget: $1,575.
