Mark Prestwich Named City Manager of St. Helena

Nevada City’s top administrator will step down at the end of this month after accepting the same job in Napa County’s St. Helena. Mark Prestwich has been chosen to replace Jennifer Phillips. Since her departure for the city of Bothell, Larry Pennell has been serving in the interim position.

"The City of Nevada City is a friendly, caring community with talented staff providing outstanding service for our citizens," Prestwich told colleagues in a resignation letter.  "I will miss working with you all!"

Prestwich will earn a base salary of $189,880 per year under his contract. His more than 21 years of municipal management experience helped him beat out 49 other applicants for the job. That experience includes 8 years managing special projects for Sacramento and 7 years with Napa’s Public Works Department and City Manager’s Office.
